Apologies from the Dark Side
Apologies, I'm a terrible, terrible, terrible comic host. I've been neglecting my updating duties, but in my defence, the weather lately has been absolutely lovely.
However, as I was tidying my room (a.k.a. shuffling things around to make a bit more space), I came across my notes from the Philosophy of Language course I took this summer. I often scribble comic ideas in the margins of my notes as the thoughts come to me, and one particular scribble stood out because I can't remember what I was thinking at the time:
Quine - Jedi knight?
Needless to say, at some point the Jedi and the Sith shall make an appearance.

Perhaps you were thinking about rigid designation again? Perhaps you were thinking that the identity claim 'Quine is the author of "Two Dogmas of Empiricism"' is only contingently true because there is a possible world in which 'Quine is a Jedi Knight'...
I just graded 40 papers on rigid designation, so my thought is probably influenced by this.

If I'm right here:http://tinyurl.com/yflxqnq then Quine is more like Mikhail Gorbachev.
