Suburban Pubs

You know you're in the suburbs when you go to an allegedly 'British' pub and you are:

    (a) the only person under 40,
    (b) the only non-white person, and
    (c) are surrounded by ex-pats who are all drinking Guinness.

It's a sad day when you feel out of place in a 'British' themed pub and more at home at an 'Irish' themed franchise pub because at least there are people there roughly the same age as you. So you alleviate the problem of (a), but (b) remains, and (c) remains to some extent. However, it's no longer ex-pats drinking Guinness, a good majority still are. No offence to Guinness drinkers, I've just never seen so many elsewhere. I'll stick to my lagers and ciders.

However, I do admit to preferring the company of 40+ year old Guinness drinking ex-pats to the company of frat boys downing a pitcher of who-knows-what.

On a totally unrelated note: BNP wins European Parliament Seat
1 vote for the BNP is one vote too many, let alone 120,000 votes.
