The Laymen Talk
The following exchange was overhead on while I was taking the bus home yesterday (this was the day after I had my Practical Reason and Human Action exam):
Person A: Why can't you make it out tonight?
Person B: I really wanted to but some other stuff came up.
Person A: Right...If you really wanted to you would've.
Person B: What I do isn't always the same as what I most want though!
Person A: It doesn't change the fact that it means you never actually intended to come out tonight. If you did, then you'd have made sure you could've come out.
At this point I had to get off the bus unless I wanted to miss my stop, and missing my stop was not what I most wanted to do.
